A common problem - someone cut through the flex rather than the hedge.
This video shows replacement of the flex using a 2 pin inline connector. This avoids having to dismantle the hedge cutter, which often have crimped connections inside for the flex.
The video covers installing a 2 pin plug and socket - this also allows for future replacement of the flex should careless persons slice through the flex again.
A new BS1363 plug with 3 amp fuse is fitted to the other end of the new flex.
The original flex was red - the new is orange. The bright colour is intended to be easily visible against green grass or other garden surfaces.
