Replacement Starter

This is an overview of a MEM Auto-Memota motor starter. This is a moderately old item, probably from the 1970s. Although not the same age as the drill, it is certainly more appropriate than a new plastic cased starter.

This video covers the operation of the starter, which has both thermal overload and no-volt release functions. It can be wired for either 3 phase or single phase, the coil is 240V.

The no-volt release function ensures that if the power fails, the drill will not automatically start when power is restored - an important safety feature missing from the original starter.
