Phase Sequence

For a three phase installation, the relationship between the phases must be established. This is typically described as rotation, with the direction being clockwise or anticlockwise.

For a basic three phase motor, incorrect phase sequence will result in the motor turning in the wrong direction. This may have expensive implications for some types of machine.
